Tara (Boothby) McConnell, BM, Music Therapy, String Bass ('95). Tara completed her clinical internship in geropsychiatry at the Morton Bakar Center in Hayward, California. From 1996-2002, she worked as a music therapist and assistant director for The Music Works Music Therapy Services in Sacramento, California. In 2002, she opened a private practice, McConnell Music Therapy Services, working primarily with children with cerebral palsy and autism. From 1998-2003, she served on the Exam Committee for the Certification Board for Music Therapists. She plays bass regularly in Sacramento for musical theater and as a member of a local rock/swing/pop trio, St. Simon 3. Tara currently lives in Orangevale, California with her husband, Christopher, and their son, Casey, born in December, 2004 and daughter, Lily, born in June, 2006.
Nova Dague, BM, Vocal Performance (`98). Nova completed her MM in Vocal Performance at the New England Conservatory. She has toured the United States, singing the leading role in an actor's equity ArtsPower production of the children's musical, "The Little Engine That Could." Nova currently lives in New York City.
Christine (Davis) Barnes, BM, Music Education, Clarinet ('92). Christine received her MM in Clarinet Performance from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1994. She taught for seven years at Concord High School (CA) where she was named the 1999 Teacher of the Year. Christine is currently the Instrumental Music Director at Charlotte Wood Middle School in Danville, California. The Charlotte Wood Middle School band was invited to perform at the California Music Educators Conference in March, 2007. Christine is married to Chris Barnes, a professional trumpet player. Wayne J. Davis, BM, Vocal Performance, ('90). Wayne Davis made his debut as Goro - Butterfly (Sacramento Opera), has performed as The Emperor- Turandot (Fresno Grand) and The Governor - Candide (Festival Opera). He is on the faculty of Patten University teaching voice and choir. Wayne was awarded a full teaching fellowship to pursue his DMA at the University of Texas in Austin. Wayne .
Lorraine Dow, BM, Music Education, Voice ('97). Lorri taught elementary and middle school music in the Stockton Unified School District for three years. In the fall of 2000, she began her MME at the University of Arizona in Tucson. She was a graduate assistant for two projects, "Opening Minds Through the Arts" and "Pride Radiates Through Music Education." While at the University of Arizona, Lorri met her significant other, Scott, who currently teaches bassoon at Valdosta State University in southern Georgia. Arianna (Giaroli) Guthrie, BM, Vocal Performance ('92), MM, Kodaly ('02). Arianna, her husband Chris and their two sons, Julian and Aidan currently live in Woodinville, Washington on Seattle's east side. She performs regularly with Seattle Pro Musica and is the Director of Choirs at Redmond High School in Redmond, Washington. David Giuliano, BM, Vocal Performance ('98). David completed his MM in Vocal Performance at the New England Conservatory where he was a scholarship student. He was a Young Artist with the Opera Institute at Boston University and the Florida Grand Opera. David has also been a Young Artist and performer with Glimmerglass Opera, Central City Opera and Berkshire Opera. His other operatic appearances include engagements with the Boston Lyric Opera, Fort Worth Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, and Opera Aperta. David won the San Francisco Opera Auditions and participated in the prestigious San Francisco Opera Merola program.
Cindy Henderson-Deane, BM, Horn Performance ('92). Cindy graduated from the University of Michigan, with a MM in Horn Performance in 1994. She married Travis Deane (Engineering '92) and they have a son, Trevor Nicholas Deane, born in December 2004. Cindy has worked for the Seattle Symphony, most recently as their Prospect Researcher. She performs around the Seattle area regularly, including a wide array of chamber music. Cindy has performed for the Seattle Symphony Tiny Tot concerts and done brass demonstrations for their Symphony on Wheels projects. Richard Hernandez, BM, Music Education ('94). Richard received a MM in Choral Conducting at UCLA in 1996. He is currently Director of Vocal Music at Pioneer Valley High School in Santa Maria, CA. Collaborations include music compositions for NBC, UFC, Fox Sports West, MTV and others. Tina (Janes) Jaynes, BM, Flute Performance ('99). Tia completed a MA in Flute Performance at the University of Iowa in 2001. Since then, she has lived in Salt Lake City performing with Kairo By Night, an Egyptian cabaret band, the Taylorsville Symphony Orchestra, and freelancing with various groups. Monica (Johnson) Swope, BM, ('91). Monica and her husband Mark Swope ('91) have two children, Ben and Hannah. She is a staff accompanist at the Conservatory of Music and Mark is the choir director at Stagg High School in Stockton, California.

Scott Oakes, BM, (99'). After a number of years living and working in Chicago, I moved to Wichita, Kansas where I am teaching at Wichita State University and playing with the Wichita Symphony and Lieurance Woodwind Quintet.
Jennifer (Scott) Powers, BM, Music Management, Flute ('96). After Pacific, Jennifer completed a Masters degree in Arts Administration at New York University. She worked in fundraising for the American Ballet Theater, Manhattan School of Music, New York Botanical Garden, and Brooklyn Philharmonic before moving to Los Angeles in 2003 with husband Michael Powers, horn ('91). Jennifer currently works in fundraising for UCLA and provides fundraising help to numerous nonprofits in the Los Angeles area.
Gary Wright, BM, Music Education, Voice ('70), MA, Music History ('92), EdD, Music Education ('96). After 24 years in the Lincoln Unified School District in Stockton, Gary and Kathy (Pacific '92) moved to the University of North Carolina-Pembroke where he was Coordinator of Vocal Music. He directed the 100-voice Concert Choir, 24-voice Pembroke Singers, taught music education courses and oversaw the vocal program (40 majors). His college choirs appeared at state MENC and ACDA conventions. Sadly Gary passed away in 2010.
