Obtaining Approval of a new General Education Course
Follow the steps below to submit a course to be part of the general education breadth program:
(1) Complete the general education Course Proposal Form and
Skills Checklist. As part of the course proposal, you will have to submit a course syllabus and a separate brief rationale as to why the course meets the
General and Specific Criteria.
(2) Submit the course proposal form, course syllabus, general and specific rationale, and skills checklist to the Associate Dean and Director of General Education.
(3) You will be invited by the Director of General Education to attend a GE committee meeting and answer any questions about your course. At this meeting, the GE committee will make a decision about your proposal and contact you after the meeting about the outcome.
