Pacific Youth Symphony
In light of the pandemic, Pacific Youth Symphony will postpone operations until January 1, 2021. We will continue to evaluate the pandemic through the fall of 2020 and will make a determination about potential activities in 2021 as early as we can in December of 2020. Pacific’s Conservatory invites our Youth Symphony families to continue their musical progress through online offerings provided by the Pacific Community Music School.
Since 1965 the Pacific Youth Symphony (previously known as Central Valley Youth Symphony) has provided young people ages 8-22 in San Joaquin and surrounding counties with the opportunity to play great symphonic music while making new friends! Since the fall of 2018, the orchestra is under the leadership of University of the Pacific's Conservatory of Music.
Weekly rehearsals on the beautiful campus at University of the Pacific prepare young musicians for 3 - 4 concerts each year in Stockton, Tracy and Lodi. Pacific Youth Symphony features two orchestras where students receive expert coaching from the Conservatory faculty and students.

Auditions
Auditions for new members are held annually in spring and late summer. The fall 2020 auditions are canceled. Please, contact youthsymphony@pacific.edu with any questions.
Returning students only need to participate in the late summer auditions for reseating. Returning Preparatory Orchestra students wishing to move up to the Symphony Orchestra may sign up for either the spring or summer auditions.
All students (including current Youth Symphony members) must first audition for the Preparatory Orchestra. Students who qualify for the Symphony Orchestra will be called back.
Students interested in joining Pacific Youth Symphony between September 1 and February 1 can call 209-946-2897 or e-mail us at youthsymphony@pacific.edu to schedule an individual audition appointment.
