Arthur Sprecher

Arthur (Art) Sprecher serves as the Vice President of Technology and Chief Information Officer at the University of the Pacific. He reports directly to the President of the University and serves on the President's Cabinet. Art represents the University's technology interests by serving on local, regional and national higher education organizations including, the EDUCAUSE Xtended Realty Constituency Group and the Higher Education West Coast CIO Forum.

Art is charged with creating a culture that integrates technology services across divisions and campuses. He leads the Pacific Technology Division staff that includes Technology Customer Experience and Service, Technology Infrastructure and Application Services, Technology Strategy and Planning, Technology Architecture, and Information Security teams.

The Pacific Technology team is dedicated to delivering sustainable, secure and innovative technology services that support the student and community-centered mission of the University. Our team partners with students, faculty, alumni and staff in the innovative use of information technologies that advance teaching and learning in higher education and unite our multi-campus University academically and administratively.

Prior to assuming this position in 2015, Art served as Vice President for Enterprise Architecture at AmerisourceBergen Corporation in Chesterbrook, PA; CIO advisor for Primitive Logic, Inc. in San Francisco, and Vice President for Finance and Corporate Administration Technology at Charles Schwab & Co. Inc. in San Francisco. He is founder of East Bay Global Consulting, LLC in Walnut Creek, a provider of business transformation, IT strategy, and enterprise architecture consulting services and has worked with clients such as, the University of Michigan Health System, Kaiser Permanente, Blue Shield of California, Eversource Energy, and Pacific Gas & Electric Company. Art holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of California, Davis. 

In addition to his work in technology, Art has a passion for dog and horse rescue and volunteers his time with several animal rescue organizations. Art and his wife, Julia, have two children and reside in Stockton, California.
