Academic Division

Ana Argueta was promoted to business manager in the Gladys L. Benerd School of Education.

Angelique Bannag is a new production coordinator in the Design and Photo Department in the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.  

Eddie Coleman was promoted to job developer in the College of the Pacific Department of Psychology.

Melanie Hash is a new student writing center manager in University Writing Programs.

Linda Hughes has transferred to the position of administrative assistant III in the Gladys L. Benerd School of Education.

Lisa Kirkpatrick is a new administrative assistant III in the University College.

Shannon Mack is a new administrative assistant II in the Office of the Provost.

Dustin Moody and Negash Taye are new sterilization and dispensing technicians in the Sterilization Department in the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.

Anh Nguyen has transferred to the position of registered dental assistant in the Endodontics Department in the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.

Deadrin Peyton is a new administrative assistant II in the College of the Pacific Department of Psychology.

Pacific Technology

Deborah Castillo is a new enterprise applications developer III in Enterprise Systems.

Somchay Vongsena was promoted to network engineer III in Network Systems.

Student Life

Travis Jordan and Jeremy Niemeyer are new campus service officer in Sacramento Campus Public Safety. 

Berry Coleman, director of San Francisco Campus Public Safety, retired from Pacific April 20. Coleman was a valued and respected member of the Pacific Dugoni Community for 31 years and served as interim director of Public Safety for the past year. A new director of Public Safety has been hired and will begin mid-June. Questions or concerns may be directed to officers in charge Emilio Fastidio or Bob Ridout.    

Business and Finance

Dylan Bacon was promoted to human resources manager in Human Resources.

Cynthia Brooks '07, accounts payable manager, retired from Pacific April 30. Brooks began working at Pacific in 2010 in the Center for Professional and Continuing Education before becoming accounts payable manager. 

Alexander Clare is a new technical support provider in the PacificCard Office.

Kathryn Gahn was promoted to accounts payable manager in the Office of the Controller.

Patricia Granados is a new human resources representative in Human Resources.

Steven Greenwood appointed director of Physical Plant

has been hired as the new director of Physical Plant. Greenwood brings over 30 years of experience in facility management, finance/budget analysis, accounting, and safety and security. He has experience in both the private and public sectors, including the United States Air Force, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, the City of Sacramento, American Honda Motors and Aspire Public Schools. He also serves as an instructor for UC Berkeley Extension, teaching several courses leading to a Facility Management certification. Greenwood earned his bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting from Humphreys College and his Master of Business Administration from University of the Pacific. He also holds Certified Facility Manager, Sustainable Facility Professional, and Facility Management Professional designations from the International Facility Management Association.   

Michael Gritsch was promoted to craftsperson II in Physical Plant.

David Sheffield is a new groundskeeper, group III, in Physical Plant.

Carlos Morales was promoted to receiving clerk II in Pacific Mail Services  

External Relations

Janae Reinhardt is a new administrative assistant in External Relations.

Office of the President 

Andrea Goldblum, Title IX Coordinator, has been appointed executive director for Gender Equity and Inclusion at University of Cincinnati. She will begin her new position June 11. Goldblum joined Pacific in August 2016 as Pacific's first full-time Title IX coordinator. At Pacific she has helped build a culture of awareness through outreach, training and education, and was instrumental in revising Pacific's Title IX policy. The university will begin a national search for this position and name an interim coordinator by May 31.    


Dick FichtnerRichard "Dick" Fichtner, former Pacific basketball coach, passed away April 17 at age 78. Born in Indiana in 1939, Fichtner was recruited by West Hills College in Coalinga where he played four sports and was inducted into the school's Hall of Fame for basketball, baseball, football and tennis. He went on to UC Santa Barbara where he was captain of the baseball team and met his wife of 55 years, Barbara Gabel. Prior to coming to Pacific in 1973, Fichtner coached for Occidental College. He was an assistant coach for the 1978-1979 Pacific team that won the Pacific Coast Athletic Association championship, and took over the head coaching position in 1980. In three years at the helm, he compiled a 36-49 record. Following his retirement in 1983, he continued provided color commentary for radio and TV broadcasts for both men's and women's basketball games. He became an avid golfer and served as president of the Stockton Golf and Country Club. He also officiated high school football games for more than two decades.
