Absolute

Absolute Computrace is a tracking application that allows university-owned mobile devices such as tablets and laptops to be located using the internet if they are reported lost or stolen. Pacific Technology is able to use this service to remotely wipe data from a device should the need arise. Computrace stores extensive hardware, software and configuration information, along with usage time, but not usage details. Read more

Bitlocker

Microsoft BitLocker is an application built into professional versions of the Windows operating system. It provides storage drive encryption that is designed to prevent unauthorised access to the data contained there. It is enabled by Pacific Technology on all university-issued Windows devices. Transition a Mobile Device

The recently implemented Mobile Device Policy (MDP) eliminates the practice of the University paying for the individual use of mobile devices, except in a few cases. The change includes cell phones, tablets, mobile devices, and other devices that rely on a cellular connection. Read more
