Advocacy Programs

Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi Student Success

Asian, Pacific Islander and Desi Student Success (APID) seeks to supports Asian, Pacific Islander and Middle Eastern students with building a sense of self-identity, being actively engaged on campus, and creating communities. 

Black Student Success

Black Student Success provides programs, resources, and advocacy for students of African descent at Pacific. As a program area within the department of Intercultural Student Success, Black Student Success aims to strengthen the University's commitment to diversity and inclusion, and maximize persistence and graduation of students of African descent.

Black Student Success Focuses on three key areas:
·       Building community among current students
·       Advancing cultural competency, inclusion, and equity across campus
·       Connecting students to leadership and personal development opportunities

Gender Equity Center

The Gender Equity Center aims to increase awareness and scholarship regarding gender issues, to celebrate and cultivate leadership for students both at Pacific and in the greater community, and to empower students to be active participants in bringing about social change.

LatinX and Native American Student Success

The LatinX and Native American Student Success mission is to assist in retaining students, connecting students to internal and external resources, advising LatinX-focused and Native American student organizations in planning and developing rich and relevant programming around LatinX and Native American themes and issues. LatinX and Native American Student Success is also dedicated to helping the University’s commitment to diversity, inclusivity, national/international education and cross-cultural understanding.

La misión de LatinX y Native American Student Success es ayudar a retener a los estudiantes, conectarlos con recursos internos y externos, asesorar a las organizaciones estudiantiles enfocadas en los latinos y los nativos americanos en la planificación y el desarrollo de una programación rica y relevante sobre temas y problemas de los latinos y los nativos americanos. LatinX y Native American Student Success también ayudan al compromiso de la Universidad con la diversidad, la inclusión, la educación nacional / internacional y la comprensión intercultural.

Pride Resource Center

The Pride Resource Center welcomes a diverse population of ethnic, religious, political and cultural values while promoting understanding and acceptance for those marginalized as a result of sexual/gender orientation.The Pride Resource Center supports a campus environment that is free from prejudice, harassment, and violence towards affiliated individuals and organizations. We provide educational programming, social activities, and advocacy with the goal of enhancing safety, tolerance and quality of life within the Pacific community.

 The objectives of the Pride Resource Center are to:

  • Provide a safe space
  • Raise awareness about issues important to the LGBTQIA+ community
  • Coordinate educational programs that address the needs and concerns of LGBTQIA+ individuals
  • Create opportunities for peer and professional support
  • Provide a wide variety of resources, materials, and information to the Pacific community
  • Promote a campus environment that is free from prejudice, harassment, and violence towards LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies
