Reaccreditation Update: Draft Self-Study Report and Campus Forums Coming Soon

Office of the ProvostMar 7, 2018

The university is in the second year of the multi-year process of reaffirming its accreditation by our accrediting agency, WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). WSCUC is responsible for setting standards for universities and evaluating universities against those standards. As part of this process, University of the Pacific must submit by the end of June 2018 its self-study report on how well it meets WSCUC standards.

Pacific's Reaccreditation Steering Committee and Working Groups - composed of faculty, staff, and students from across the university - have been working on Pacific's self-study data collection and the draft report since last academic year and will soon present the draft for review by the Pacific community. Constituents from across the university have worked with the steering committee and working groups to provide data and evidence to support the report, which is an approximately 75-page document addressing eight components, most of which focus on educational quality and student success. Provost Pallavicini would like to acknowledge and thank everyone who's been working on and continues to work on the university's reaccreditation process.

The Reaccreditation Steering Committee will present the draft report to the Pacific community beginning March 26. Community forums for faculty, staff, and students are planned on the three campuses. The Provost and members of the steering committee will be on hand to provide background for the report, talk about next steps in the review process and answer questions. The Steering Committee will ask members of the university community to review the report and provide feedback about significant errors and omissions.

A discussion site will be open for your comments for four weeks from March 26 - April 20. More information on the reaccreditation process can be found here. (Pacific login required). Starting March 26, members of the Reaccreditation Steering Committee will conduct a 'roadshow' to various committees and groups to present the draft report, talk about next steps in the review process and answer questions (see schedule below).
