Pacific alumni honored by Sacramento Business Journal

Every year the Sacramento Business Journal selects 40 young professionals to be featured in the publication's annual 40 Under 40 list. This year, Pacific was well represented by three graduates on the list for 2017. They are:

  • Annie Amaral, J.D. is a partner at Downey Brand LLP, is a 2005 graduate of the McGeorge School of Law. She served on the board of directors for the Sacramento chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and last year joined the board of directors for Junior Achievement. She also  volunteers annually for Habitat for Humanity and organizes groups of attorneys at her firm to work at local community builds
  • Allison Harvey, J.D. is CEO and senior attorney at A.L. Harvey Law, PC. She is a 2007 graduate of the McGeorge School of Law and launched her firm in 2011 after working five years as corporate counsel for a technology company. The firm, which employs only women, specializes in business and employment law, family law and real estate planning.
  • Tony Mikla, DPT. is the founder and president of Kime Human Performance Institute, which provides physical therapy for more than a thousand people per month throughout the Sacramento region, and provides board-certified, continuing -education resources to other PT providers. Mikla completed his doctor of physical therapy at University of the Pacific in 2004. In addition to the Institute, he partners with regional medical intuitions to conduct studies on issues such as the injury risks to youth athletes.

"This year's 40 Under 40 are making Sacramento a more compassionate and welcoming place to live. They volunteer their time, expertise and money to support programs and initiatives that benefit worth causes and people in need," wrote Sam Boykin, managing editor of the Sacramento Business Journal. "It's exciting to see this kind of passion and fortitude. The folks highlighted in this issue are not satisfied with just being a part of the Sacramento business community.
