Pacific pilots automatic waitlisting for academic courses
In response to requests from faculty and students and to streamline the registration process for our students, the Office of the Registrar is excited to share that Pacific is piloting waitlist functionality in our registration system with a limited number of typically impacted classes. As the pilot program is successful, we will evaluate possible classes to be included in future expansions.
The pilot program began this month during registration for spring 2018 for participating classes. Waitlists will remain open until Jan. 19 (for Pharmacy) and Jan. 26 (for undergraduate and graduate programs). See the list of courses included in the pilot below.
When participating classes are full (i.e. all seats in the class are taken), students will have the option to add themselves to a waitlist for the class. If a spot in the class opens up (typically due a student dropping the class), the first student on the waitlist will be notified of the opportunity to add the class. More information is provided on the waitlist pilot web page.
The Registrar's Office has published a guide to show students how to add themselves to the waitlist for a class, how to register for a class from the waitlist (when a spot has opened), and other important pieces of information.
If you have any questions about this functionality, please contact the Registrar's Office at registrar@pacific.edu or 209.946.2135.
