Marc Afshar is a Campus Pastor serving with Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship. Marc graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Biology. While active in the Chi Alpha ministries during his undergraduate studies, he felt called to become a pastor. Ilana Ferguson is an Intern for InterVarsity. A recent graduate of Pacific she majored in International Studies and is putting her degree to work by focusing on outreach to International Students. Robbie Frederiksen is the Director of Young Adult Ministries at Central United Methodist Church, located just across the street from Pacific. He works with United Methodist students and plans the Open Door Methodist Student Ministries events and programs. Robbie recently moved to Stockton from Portland, Oregon where he graduated from George Fox University with a degree in Christian Ministry. Lisandro Pena is staff person at Catholic Diocese of Stockton, serving at the Director of Newman Catholic Ministries. He was born and raised in Ecuador, and received a bachelor's degree from St. Francis College. He has spent four years studying in Rome and has visited twenty-eight countries. He served as a Liturgical Coordinator at Gonzaga University in Washington, where he earned a Master's degree in Pastoral Ministry. He earned a second Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology and Personnel Services at Fordham University in New York City, where he worked for seven years. Before coming to Stockton, Lisandro spent the last four years working as the Director of Jesuit Hispanic Ministry for the Jesuit provinces of the East Coast. Student Employee: Service and Social Justice Advocate
The Service and Social Justice Advocate has the main responsibility to work as a liaison with Religious and Spiritual Life staff and the associated student groups. The purpose of this role is to help in the execution of the department's objective to provide opportunities for students to engage in both action and dialogue concerning the intersection of religion and social justice. The Service and Social Justice Advocate assists in planning and leading volunteer service opportunities.
Student Employee: Religions and Faith Inclusion Coordinator
The Religions and Faith Inclusion Coordinator has the main responsibility of working as a liaison between registered student groups and the Religious and Spiritual Life Staff. The purpose of this role is to help deepen connections between student clubs and the Chaplain's Office, to promote interfaith awareness and religious literacy, and to assist in the department's mission of supporting students from various faith and non-faith identities.
Student Employee: Religious Life Events Coordinator
The Religious Life Events Coordinator assists the Religious and Spiritual Life team with various events and programs. Additionally, this student employee helps promote Registered Student Organization events that are affiliated with a religion, spirituality, and/or non-faith belief system.
