- Two-Year Master of Arts, Music Therapy: This 32-unit program is designed for students who hold an undergraduate degree in music therapy, or its equivalent, and are looking for advanced-level clinical or research training to secure a competitive position in today's rapidly growing health care system.
- Three-Year Plus Internship Master of Arts, Music Therapy: This 55-unit program is designed for those with a bachelor's degree in music or a field related to music therapy (e.g. psychology, special education, etc.) who seek both entry- and advanced-level training in music therapy. This popular and flexible learning option starts with strong basic musicianship and adds specific knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) and the American Music Therapy Association.

Master of Arts in Music Therapy Admission Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy (2-Year) / Bachelor's degree in Music or a field related to Music Therapy (3-Year)
- Personal statement
- Resume
- Three letters of recommendation
- Official transcripts from all colleges attended
- GRE scores (Not required for applicants with a GPA of 3.5 or higher)
- Musical Skills Assessment (live or video recording):
1) Perform two contrasting pieces on primary instrument/voice.
2) Sing one piece from a traditional or contemporary musical repertoire with self-accompaniment on piano.
3) Sing one piece from a traditional or contemporary musical repertoire with self-accompaniment on guitar. (You may use sheet music or a lead sheet.) Examples: You Are My Sunshine, This Land is Your Land, This Little Light of Mine
4) Sing one American folk song from memory a capella. Examples: Oh Susannah, Home on the Range, Aura Lee
