The Southeast Asian American Experience

The Vietnam War ushered in an era of immense suffering throughout Southeast Asia, leading to the displacement of millions of refugees from Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. As the communists found their champions in the Viet Cong, Khmer Rouge, and Pathet Lao, those who favored the west were forced to flee for their lives. This course will chart the experience of those who fled to the United States and how they struggles to establish themselves in a new land despite facing immense hardships and numerous obstacles.
