Staff Search Committee Orientation and Diversity Guidance

To  support hiring managers and search committee members in making the best hires, the Office of Human Resources is offering a Staff Search Committee Orientation and diversity guidance. The one-hour training program will be offered at a search committee's first meeting.

The training includes:

  • Overview of the search process and tips and strategies to find the best person for the job
  • Understanding your role as a search committee member
  • Review of the applicant tracking in PeopleAdmin
  • Selection criteria
  • Anti-bias awareness
  • Interviewing skills
  • Checking references
  • Knowing your responsibilities under the university's Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer policies (AA/EOE)
