At Pacific Since: 2014

Stephanie Raval, AuD earned her bachelor of arts in language studies at University of California, Santa Cruz. She earned a doctorate of audiology from the joint doctoral program between University of California, San Diego and San Diego State University. In addition, Dr. Raval received clinical training at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford. She joined the Pacific faculty in 2014.

What she loves about teaching at Pacific is that she has the time and resources to devote the highest quality care to her patients. Her on-going goal is to provide quality and compassionate care for her patients using up-to-date technologies and best practices. She believes that in turn this lays the foundation for a great clinical learning environment for students.  

Dr. Raval is a California licensed dispensing audiologist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. When considering different career options Dr. Raval sought out a discipline that would allow her to work in a clinical setting. She also wanted to be able to get to know her patients and continue to see their progress over the years. What attracted her to audiology was that it had both of those components.  

Throughout her career she has been greatly influenced by the experiences of her patients and she highly values their feedback. On weekends she works with a non-profit auditory-oral school for children with hearing loss called the Children's Choice for Hearing and Talking (CCHAT). At CCHAT she performs diagnostic testing for infants.  

Dr. Raval enjoys spending time with her family and golden retriever. She loves going for walks along the American River trail and traveling abroad. She has been to India several times to visit her husband's family. Indian food is her favorite and she enjoys cooking, especially one-pot recipes. Dr. Raval also studied Mandarin Chinese and lived in China for six months.

Teaching Philosophy: “I strive to engage students and figure out what it is about audiology that inspires them most. I think it is this kind of enthusiasm that makes students into great clinicians.”
