Jane LewisJane Lewis to leave Pacific
Jane Lewis, executive director of human resources, will be leaving Pacific at the end of August. During her more than 40 years at Pacific, Lewis has served in multiple positions in Human Resources including director, assistant vice president and executive director. She is a past recipient of the Most Valuable Pacifican Award and received a recognition award for devoted service to Pacific. Lewis has been involved with multiple policy decisions and has served on several administrative committees during her time at Pacific. She was also an instrumental partner with the former administration in creating the Staff Advisory Council, an important constituency group on campus. She has had many Pacific and professional memberships and affiliations including the Athletics Leadership Council, the Pacific Athletic Foundation, the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), the College and University Professional Association–Human Resources (CUPA), California Women for Agriculture, the Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities (AICCU), the San Joaquin Human Resources Association (SJHRA) and the Greater Stockton Employer Advisory Council (GSEAC).

“Jane has made many important contributions throughout her career at Pacific and to the human resources profession," said Greg Walters, assistant vice president for Human Resources. "Please join me in thanking Jane for her service to Pacific and wishing her well in her future endeavors.”

Jacob Leonard is a new electrician, group IV in Support Services.

Christopher Madill is the new capital construction project manager in Capital Planning and Space Management.

Craig Meadows is a new public safety officer in Sacramento Campus Public Safety.

Student Life

Kaye MooneyKaye Mooney announces retirement 
After 37 years of exemplary service, Kaye Mooney, assistant director of corporate and employer engagement in the Career Resource Center, has announced she will retire. Her last day at Pacific is August 19.

Mooney came to Pacific in 1979 as an administrative assistant in the College of the Pacific English Department, followed by five years in the College Dean’s Office. In 1998, she joined the Student Life team as an internship coordinator in the Career Resource Center and continued to advance to her current position of assistant director for corporate and employer engagement. Mooney has facilitated employment opportunities for Pacific students with the Peace Corps, the FBI, the CIA and a number of school districts, among many other opportunities. She has been responsible for numerous events and community partnerships. Her community relationships have assisted in securing services and supplies for students who lacked the resources. She proudly collaborated services for and with local nonprofits, including Haven of Peace, the Gospel Center Rescue Mission, One Transitional Learning Center, St. Mary’s Interfaith Dining Hall, and the Women’s Center of San Joaquin County. Mooney plans to continue to serve on the United Way Board of Directors, the Stockton Community Council, and the Power of One Committee.

“I will never forget the amazing faculty and staff I’ve had the pleasure to work with over the years,” said Mooney. “I am very confident with the new staff in the CRC that faculty and employers will be taken care of in a wonderful way! Everything will continue to move forward in bigger and better ways! Thank you Pacific!”

Sue Daugherty is the new internship development specialist in the Career Resource Center. She joined Pacific on July 25 from O'Connor Woods where she served as a sales counselor in public relations.

Linda Dempsey has been promoted to executive director of new student and family programs, student orientation/ambassador programs. The student advisors now report directly to Dempsey and are located in Burns Tower.

Anne Eastlick's and Jesus Margarito's positions have been reclassified as student success coaches in Student Academic Support Services.

Richard Ford has transferred to the position of associate director for residential and dining facilities in Residential Life and Housing.

Alissa Melendez is a new staff psychologist II in counseling and psychological services. She joined Pacific on July 22, from California State University, Sacramento, where she served as a counselor.

Samantha Pfeiffer '16 is the new internship develop specialist in the Career Resource Center as of July 25. She completed her Master of Arts in Educational Administration and Leadership from the Gladys L. Benerd School of Education in May 2016.

Colleen Smith has been promoted to program support specialist in the Office of Multicultural Affairs.

Courtney Sutton has been promoted to associate director of new student and family programs, student orientation/ambassador programs.

Derrick Kennedy is a new public safety officer in Sacramento Campus Public Safety.

Arnaldo RodriguezArnaldo Rodriquez appointed interim assistant vice provost, director of admission
Vice Provost for Enrollment Management J. Michael Thompson is pleased to announce that Arnaldo Rodriguez has been appointed interim assistant vice provost, director of admission. Rodriguez joined Pacific with 14 years' experience as the vice president for admission and financial aid at Pitzer College in Claremont, California. He will use his more than 40 years of admission and enrollment experience to provide leadership to the Office of Admission and engage with the campus community. Rodriguez is serving in this role while Pacific conducts its search for a new assistant vice provost, director of admission. Please join us in welcoming him to the University.

Keith DeVaul is a new records coordinator I in Research and Graduate Studies.

Braley Ferris is the graduate student support services specialist for graduate enrollment and recruiting in the Office of Enrollment.

Elizabeth Herrera has been re-hired as an applied behavior analyst II in the College of the Pacific Department of Psychology.

Carlos Torres is a new financial aid counselor I in Financial Aid.

James Young is the new technical support specialist I in the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

Amber Childs is a new program services assistant for Physician Assistant Studies on the Sacramento Campus.

Madeline Escorcia transferred to the position of International Student Services Program Coordinator for the International Dental Studies Program in Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.

Melanie Mai is a new administrative assistant in Academic Affairs in Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.

Chaula Patel is a new program manager in the Department of Dental Practice in Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.

Pacific Technology

Chandara Phann’s position was reclassified as network engineer I.

Faye Snowden’s position was reclassified as senior project manager in the Program Management Office.


Justin Hawkins-Young is a new video specialist for men's basketball.

Jeffery Wolf is the new assistant to the head coach of women’s volleyball. Wolf will take over the director of operations position with the indoor team while becoming Pacific's newest assistant coach for the beach team. Wolf was most recently at UC Davis where he was a volunteer assistant coach and director of operations. Read more>>
