Sarah Wong

Sarah Wong Outstanding Student profile

Sarah Wong, Biological Sciences '14, distinguished herself during four years of study at Pacific as a Powell Scholar, the recipient of a prestigious Goldwater Fellowship and a Pacific Summer Research Fellowship, a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi, and one of three Outstanding Seniors for the Department of Biological Sciences. However, Sarah just added one more honor to her list of impressive credits as she leaves Pacific for her PhD at UC San Francisco: Sara has been named a Phi Kappa Phi Fellow, with an award of $5,000 towards her graduate studies.

Every year, The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi awards 51 Fellowships of $5,000 each to members entering their first year of graduate or professional study. Each Phi Kappa Phi chapter may select one candidate from among its local applicants to compete for the Society-wide awards. Selection is based on the applicant's promise of success in graduate or professional study, including academic achievement, service and leadership experience, letters of recommendation, personal statement or career goals, and acceptance at an approved graduate or professional program.

As Sarah prepares for her dual PhD in neuroscience and DDS program at UC San Francisco, we congratulate her on this achievement. Best of luck, Sarah!
