Employees recognized for distinguished service, years of service in Stockton and Sacramento

Jun 6, 2016

Two very surprised Stockton employees were recognized last week for their outstanding service to Pacific as they were honored as 2016 recipients of the Cavanaugh Distinguished Service Award. Eighmee Ferrill and Lynn King received this annual award for exceptional accomplishments, leadership and service to Pacific at the Staff Years of Service Luncheon, held June 2 on Knoles Lawn. Sacramento Staff Recognition

The Cavanaugh Distinguished Service Award was presented at the Sacramento Campus for the first time this year. Monica Sharum, head of library technology and instructional support at the Sacramento Campus library, was recognized for her dedicated service to Pacific at the inaugural ceremony on the Sacramento Summer Picnic on May 31.

Monica SharumThis past year, Sharum has played an important collaborative leadership role in advancing a number of innovative new services within the McGeorge School of Law and the University Libraries. She developed the McGeorge Scholarly Commons digital repository and currently has a major role in transitioning it to a university-wide Pacific Scholarly Commons digital repository. She also played a lead role in implementing the University Libraries' new integrated library catalog and digital resource search systems. Her technology and library knowledge, hard work and mentoring of newer librarians has been critical in bringing the Sacramento and Stockton libraries together to collaborate on this new unified system. She is an essential part of the transition team reorganizing audio-visual and technology support functions in response to the new Sacramento programs.
