Sacramento PA Project
On May 19, 2016 University of the Pacific's newly developed Physician's Assistant program celebrated their grand opening. This facility included a remodel of the 2nd floor of the Muddox building as well as technology implementation to support both the PA program as well as provide new avenues of teaching to existing programs. Pacific Technology played a critical role in the design, implementation, and testing of the AV system that supports these programs.
Among the benefits the completed AV system provides are:
- Lecture Capture - The divisible classroom has the capabilities for record lectures using the University's Mediasite lecture capture system.
- Video Conference - The divisible classroom and conference room has the ability to connect to remote participants through video conferencing system or Webex.
- Presentation - The divisible classroom is equipped with standard presentation capabilities.
- Simulation and recording system - The installed technology in the PA side of the remodel allow for simulation of patient encounters and clinical skills development.
- Security - Security cameras were installed for added safety and security.
Pacific Technology's implementation of the project started in January 2016 and was completed in May. This work required coordination across the entire spectrum of Pacific Technology's Cyberinfrastructure department. This concerted effort from various members of Pacific Technology's organization was vital in delivering these services and their supporting spaces on time the pre-accreditation visit. San Francisco and Sacramento IT staff also provided supporting roles in the delivering the system.
