Sustainability Month 2015
The University of the Pacific has set aside the month of April each year as Sustainability Month. During the month we celebrate and highlight sustainable and green activities on all three campuses. Some activities have included: a bike repair station, Green Fashion Show, celebrity guest speakers such as Annie Leonard and Eric Schlosser, the Beehive Collective and more. Each campus hosts a variety of activities based on the demands and desires of their students, faculty and staff.

Wild & Scenic Film Festival |
Considered one of the nation's premiere environmental and adventure film festivals, The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is held each January in Nevada City, California, as a start to the tour that travels "to more than 140 communities" with new locations added every year (wildandscenicfilmfestival.org). The Festival is a call to action, by showing environmentally conscious and adventure films that highlight our finite natural resources, challenges all living creatures face and work from around the world - grassroots, especially - being done to protect the Earth and its natural beauty. Matt Black, filmmaker and 2014 Time Magazine Instagram photographer of the year, will be available for questions after the showing of his film, California: Paradise Burning. This year's films combine stellar filmmaking, beautiful cinematography and first-rate storytelling to inform, inspire and ignite solutions and possibilities to restore the earth and human communities while creating a positive future for the next generation. Festival-goers can expect to see Award winning films about nature, community activism, adventure, conservation, water, energy and climate change, wildlife, environmental justice, and agriculture. You can find the program & film descriptions that will be shown here: W & S Stockton Film Program 7:00 - 7:30 PM Reception; 7:30 PM - 8:45 PM film viewing, Q&A with Matt Black and Intermission; 9:15PM - 10:00 PM film viewings |

Stockton Earth Day April 26, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Victory Park, Stockton |
Stockton's 27th annual Earth Day Festival will take place at Victory Park highlighting the need to "Bee Aware" - this year's theme for the festival. The unprecedented decline and collapse of bees and colonies is impacting all regions of the world and leaving many wary of what is going to happen with food production, ecosystems and the overall natural environment. The Stockton Earth Day brings organizations, clubs and activities from all over the Central Valley for a fun filled day in the park where young minds and adults can learn and engage in new knowledge and activities.
