Greg WaltersPacific appoints new assistant vice president for human resources
Greg Walters, a human resources professional with broad experience in higher education, industry and government, has been appointed the new assistant vice president for human resources. Walters comes to Pacific from the University of Idaho, where he served as executive director of human resources.  He will begin his new post Feb. 19. In his new role, Walters will work to advance Pacific's human resources management through enhancing the workplace environment, strengthening employee development and diversity, developing a robust recruitment plan, among other important initiatives. Reporting to Ken Mullen, vice president for business and finance, and serving on the president's cabinet, Walters will oversee the university-wide human resource and assessment, training and technology units that will continue to be led by Jane Lewis and Sondra Roeuny. Tamara PhelanTamara L. Phelan, professor of physical therapy, was appointed the new assistant vice provost for educational effectiveness, effective July 15, 2016. She will be responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of the program review process and will help lead Pacific's institutional reaccreditation process. Read more>>

Mynor Aragon has earned a promotion from annual fund manager to senior development officer at Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. He will have supervisory responsibility for the dental school's two development officers and the data coordinator and will manage a portfolio of major gift prospects. Over the past year, Aragon has led the school's annual fund, raising $650,000 in flexible funds last fiscal year and more than $500,000 this fiscal year with five months still remaining. He also played an integral role in raising several gifts to support the school's capital campaign and scholarship and has spearheaded several class reunion campaigns as well as the 2015 Class Gift. He will be located in 4H33 in the Development suite, and his new office phone number is 415.929.6432. 

David Eastis, executive director of principle giving in Corporate and Foundation Relations, has transferred from the San Francisco Campus to the Stockton Campus.

Amanda Elrod has been promoted as the new director of Corporate and Foundation Relations following an extensive search. She assumes her new roll Feb. 16. Elrod took on her first professional role with Pacific in August 2009 as an analyst in the Development Research Office. She moved on in October 2011 to serve as the donor relations and stewardship coordinator before assuming a role as assistant director of Corporate and Foundation Relations in 2013. In June 2015, Elrod was appointed by President Eibeck to serve on a university task force on foster youth and was also promoted to associate director of Corporate and Foundation Relations.  After a national search, it became evident that Elrod was the strongest candidate for the position. She will retain her current office and phone number.

Stacy Welin-Erickson '88, assistant dean for development for the Gladys L. Benerd School of Education and University Library, has accepted a position as director of major gifts at Dignity Health/St. Joseph's Medical Center.  Her last day at Pacific will be March 2. Erickson has led the School of Education and Library fundraising efforts since 2007 when she was hired as director of external relations for both units, and then as director of development before appointment to her current position. During her time at Pacific, she has been a part of many meaningful gifts including the Robinson scholarship and the John Muir papers. She was also a driving force behind the coordination of elementary school participation, which was critical to Pacific's Kennedy Center fundraiser and community/youth events as well as the more recent Brundibar and Advancing Women's Leadership youth engagement efforts.

Amelia Hooper, research analyst in Advancement Services, has accepted a new position as a research associate with the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington.  Her last day was Feb. 12.

Student Life

Steffanie Cabrera's position has been reclassified as business supervisor for counseling and psychological and health services.

Annabelle Leach has transferred to the position of health services specialist in Health Services.

Sandra Mahoney's position has been reclassified as executive director of planning and assessment in the Division of Student Life. 

Patricia Metzger has transferred to the position of business manager in Housing and Greek Life.

Pamela Wrona is a new staff psychologist II in counseling and psychological services


Anthony Bunag is a new information systems analyst.

Theresa Calamaco is a new technical support specialist I.

Ryan Howard is the new systems administrator II in Systems Engineering.

Jeffrey Groetsema was promoted to assistant director of Technology at the Sacramento Campus.
