Welcoming this year's new faculty - Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences

In support of Pacific 2020 and the Academic Plan, Pacific continues to prepare its students for successful professions in the ever-changing healthcare industry. For the 2015-16 academic year, the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences welcomed new faculty members to its Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (to support Pacific's Audiology Clinics in Stockton and San Francisco) and to its departments of Pharmaceutics and Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacy Practice.  

Jacque Georgeson, Assistant Clinical Professor of Audiology, San Francisco

Jacque Georgeson, AuD, received her master's degree from University of Memphis and obtained her AuD from University of Florida. She received clinical experiences at Australian Hearing Services (Sydney, Australia), Washington University School of Medicine (St. Louis) and Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. After 10 years working clinically, she transitioned to the educational side of audiology. Dr. Georgeson has worked as a clinical training coordinator precepting students in their first-year clinical rotations, teaching clinical methods and staffing classes. She developed off-campus and externship experiences at San Diego State University and continues to promote clinical training and recruit quality clinical placements for students.  


Shu-en Lim, Assistant Clinical Professor of Audiology, San Francisco

Shu-en Lim, AuD, joins the Hearing and Balance Center with previous experience in pediatric and adult diagnostic evaluation and rehabilitation, including hearing devices and cochlear implants, vestibular assessments, tinnitus counseling and auditory rehabilitation. She received her bachelor of science from Northwestern University and her doctor of audiology from Vanderbilt University, where she served as a research assistant at the Dan Maddox Hearing Aid Research Laboratory. Dr. Lim is a California licensed dispensing audiologist and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, the American Board of Audiology and the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association.


Benjamin Reece, Assistant Clinical Professor of Speech-Language Pathology, Stockton

Benjamin Reece graduated from Pacific with a master of science in speech-language pathology. He has worked in a variety of clinical settings and has worked extensively with children with Autism and pragmatic language disorders. He holds clinical certificates in the areas of Autism, alternative and augmentative communication and assistive technology. Reece has served on the state board for the California Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CSHA) as a Director and as the Commissioner on Legislation. He also is an assistant coach for the Pacific Rugby team, which celebrated a National Championship in 2015.  



Melanie Felmlee, Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutics and Medicinal Chemistry

Melanie A. Felmlee, PhD, received her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from SUNY, University at Buffalo where she also completed a postdoctoral fellowship. She was a Research Assistant Professor at University of Buffalo before joining Pacific. Her research interests are in the areas of drug transport, pharmacokinetics and pharmacogenomics, specifically looking at the role of transporter expression/regulation in modifying drug pharmacokinetics and toxicity. Dr. Felmlee is the author of over 30 peer-reviewed publications and abstracts. She is a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), the American Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET) and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP).  


Elaine Law, Assistant Clinical Professor of Pharmacy Practice, San Jose Regional Coordinator

Elaine Law, PharmD, BCPS, earned her doctor of pharmacy at UC San Francisco. Dr. Law developed her professional experiences and clinical expertise during her post-graduate training at UCSF. She joined the Pacific family in 2015 as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pharmacy Practice and the Regional Coordinator for the San Jose Region. Her research studies include bariatric surgery, counterfeit medications and gastrointestinal disorders. She serves as the New Practitioner Executive Committee Chair for the California Society of Health System Pharmacists (CSHP) and was appointed to the Board of Directors for 2016. Dr. Law is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.  


Yvonne Mai, Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Stockton Regional Coordinator

Yvonne Mai '13, PharmD, earned her doctor of pharmacy from Pacific, where she also completed a fellowship in pharmacoeconomics, health care outcomes and clinical services. She joined the School in 2015 as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice and the Regional Coordinator for the Stockton region. Her research is focused on health outcomes of pharmacist-provided services and innovative services or practice models to improve outcomes in the underserved and Medicare population. Dr. Mai serves on the Board of Directors of the California Pharmacists Association - San Joaquin Pharmacists Association Chapter (CPhA-SJPhA) and is a member of the California Society of Health System Pharmacists (CSHP).
