Originally from Texas and now residing in Stockton, Brian Kendrick holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Percussion Performance from Texas Tech University as well as a Master of Science degree from Syracuse University. He has performed throughout North America and Europe in both jazz and orchestra settings and has appeared with such eminent artists as Henry Mancini, Sarah Vaughn, Ernie Watts, Jiggs Whigham, Bobby Watson, Ray Drummond, Anton Schwartz, Claudia Villela, Gilbert Castellanos and Eric Marienthal. Brian Kendrick has recorded with Habanero, Blue Norther, Frank Morgan, Marvin Stamm, Essiett Essiett, Joe Gilman, Chris Brubeck, Aaron Garner, Dave Bass and Patrick Langham.

Before moving to Northern California, Kendrick performed regularly in New York with the Syracuse New Music Society, his jazz quartet, Blue Norther, and founded the Salt City Jazz Collective big band, while also teaching drum set and percussion at Syracuse University. Kendrick currently maintains an active performance schedule playing jazz, orchestra and chamber music with ensembles such as Stockton Symphony, Modesto Symphony, The Music Circus, Bear Valley Music Festival, St. John's Chamber Orchestra. Jazz artists include Patrick Langham Group, Simon Rowe Quintet, Aaron Garner, Dave Bass, The Brian Kendrick Big Band and vocalists Vivian Leigh and Franchesca Homan. Besides being a versatile performer, Kendrick is a dedicated educator and is Director of Jazz at San Joaquin Delta College, teaches Applied Jazz at University of the Pacific's Conservatory, and has taught at the Cazadero Music Camp and is on the faculty of the Brubeck Institute Summer Jazz Camps and Brubeck Jazz Colony.
