14 Day Writing Challenge
Making time for research and creative work is challenging at any stage of an academic career, and can be particularly challenging after tenure, when service and other demands seem to multiply. Start off the fall semester right by "paying yourself first".
Starting Monday, September 26, Pacific will hold its second 14-day Writing Challenge. It is based on the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (NCFDD) 14-Day writing Challenge. For 14 days between September 26 and October 9, participants commit to schedule 30 minutes (or more or less; you set your goals) daily for writing. "Writing" can be anything that advances your research/creative endeavors.
You will report your progress to a small group of other faculty members participating across all disciplines - the goal is to support each other to take time to write - not to discuss or comment on the details of each other's work. Please use this form to enroll in the 14-Day Writing Challenge or contact Sarah Waltz (swaltz@pacific.edu) or Berit Gundersen (bgundersen@pacific.edu) for more information.
