New features for PacificConnect emergency notification system

Oct 14, 2015

As University of the Pacific expands its curriculum on its Sacramento and San Francisco campuses, other areas around the University are also expanding and increasing the programs and services that are offered to the students, staff and faculty involved in these new academic programs.

One service that was recently expanded is the University's emergency notification system known as PacificConnect

In the past, notifications were sent to members of the University community based upon the campus they were assigned (i.e. if someone worked on the San Francisco campus, they would receive emergency notifications for emergencies that related to that specific campus).

Some of the new programs that have been launched or are being developed report to entities on different campuses (i.e. Audiology is located in San Francisco but is part of the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences). It has become apparent that individuals involved in these programs may not receive PacificConnect notifications on the campus where they actually work. In order to remedy this situation, the Pacific Alert Team, Human Resources and Pacific Technology have worked together to upgrade the PacificConnect registration website to permit individuals to pick which campus notification they wish to receive.

Please take a moment to update your PacificConnect information so you will receive timely and important information in the event of a crisis or emergency. While you may just sign up for one campus notification, we recommend signing up for all three campus alerts so that you can be aware of and prepare for emergencies at your site if needed.

To update your information, please on the insidePacific website at  Once you have logged into the site, click on the "Administrative" tab and update your profile in the Pacific Connect box.  For more information on how to complete this update, please contact Human Resources at 209.946.2124 or Public Safety at 209.946.2537.
