Benefits news: National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Oct 2, 2015

Awareness is key.

Help raise awareness of National Breast Cancer Awareness month by wearing a pink ribbon during the month of October. Most people are aware of the devastating disease but many forget to take steps for their own prevention. Women have more control over the disease than they think.  The risk of many cancers, including breast cancer, can be significantly reduced by living a healthy lifestyle. While there are no guarantees, here are steps women can take to lower their risk.

1.       Maintain a healthy weight
2.       Eat right
3.       Be physically active
4.       Limit alcohol consumption
5.       Don't smoke
6.       Detect early

Delta Health Systems newsletter is full of interesting articles on subjects from high heels to childhood obesity. It also includes helpful exercises and two great recipes. Have you ever tried Zoodles? Do you know what Zoodles are? Check out the recipe for a new take on pasta. But, eat as much as you like because they are actualyl made from zucchini. Surprising, and completely delicious.
