Health Insurance
Health insurance and immunizations are extremely important in keeping the Pacific community healthy. Both students and scholars have specific requirements that must be met in order to comply with Pacific policies as well as federal immigration laws. Please click on the appropriate link below for more information regarding these requirements.
Students
Please know that Pacific requires all students to be immunized in order to enroll.
- New students should review Entrance Requirements and Forms.
- Continuing students should see Immunization Compliance.
For questions related to Pacific's immunization requirement, please contact Pacific Health Services at 209.946.2315 and select option one.
Note, Pacific also requires all students to maintain active health insurance. For more information, please visit Pacific's Insurance Office online or in person at the Cowell Wellness Center. Representatives can also be reached by phone, 209.946.2027, or email, insuranceoffice@pacific.edu.
Scholars
The federal immigration regulations for J-1 scholars requires that all scholars have health insurance that meets specific standards for the entire duration of their program. These standards are outlined here.
Below is a list of companies that offer health insurance plans for scholars and any dependents. However, other providers are acceptable as long as the policy meets the minimum standards outlined in the regulations. Scholars should bring a copy of their insurance card with them to their IPS orientation. A copy of the policy benefits may be required to verify that the policy complies with imigration regulations.
