Reminder: Changes to university wireless internet access

Sep 28, 2015

Pacific Technology Services has made it easier to connect to Pacific wireless by streamlining the connection options. As of Sept. 30, instead of eight different wireless networks, staff, faculty, students and guests will select from three university-wide connection options:

  • PacificNet for faculty, staff and student laptops, tablets and smartphones
  • PacDeviceReg for e-readers, gaming consoles or other devices that can't connect to PacificNet due to device limitations
  • Pacific_Guest for visitors.

Visitors to all three campuses will need a username and passcode to connect to the guest registration portal. This information was made available in insidePacific on the Pacific Today tab beneath the Campus Announcements channel as of Sept. 30. Any faculty or staff will be able to logon to insidePacific and retrieve the visitor username/passcode information.

Technology Services is sending reminder bookmarks and business card size guest wireless instructions for departments to provide to their constituents. There is a space on the back of the guest instructions to write the username/passcode for visitors. If you would like to be on the list to receive reminder bookmarks and guest instructions, please contact the Customer Support Center at 209.946.7400.
