Important changes regarding on-campus wireless Internet access

Sep 1, 2015

Pacific Technology Services is making it easier to connect on campus to wireless internet by streamlining connection options. Faculty and staff can now connect laptops, computers, tablets and smartphones to  PacificNet. The old wireless connection for faculty/staff (PacificNET_PRO), will be disabled  on September 13.

In addition, a new wireless network, PacDeviceReg is available to faculty, staff and students to register e-readers and other devices that can't connect to the wireless network the normal way. The registration page for these devices can be found at Instructions on how to do so can be found here

At the end of this change period, instead of multiple wireless connection options for faculty, staff and students, only two will exist:

1)  PacificNet for laptops, smartphones and tablets
2)  PacDeviceReg for e-readers, gaming consoles or other devices that can't connect to PacificNet due to technical device limitations.

If you have any questions about these changes, please contact your local support provider or the Customer Support Center at 209.946.7400.
