April Board of Regents Meeting Update
Back to Issue 19 Table of Contents
The Board of Regents April meeting was held on April 16-17 in the University Space of Pacific's San Francisco campus. Among an extensive amount of information presented by administration, faculty, students and alumni, many key proposals were approved by the Board. These included:
NEW ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
Both the Master of Public Policy (M.P.P.) and Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) programs were approved by the Board for offering on the Sacramento Graduate Campus.
STRATEGIC INVESTMENT FUND
Many Strategic Investment Fund (SIF) proposals were also approved by the Board. These include:
• Master of Public Administration
These funds allow for up to three years of capital to prepare and deliver the Master of Public Administration degree program on the Sacramento Graduate Campus. As with all new programs supported by SIF, this program must be at least revenue neutral after three years in order to continue. (Please note - an SIF proposal was also approved for the Master of Public Policy program, but due to its size President Eibeck had final authority on funding).
• McGeorge Action Plan
Funding the McGeorge Action Plan allows the school to invest in important academic and career support programs vital to the success of the McGeorge Action Plan.
• Sacramento Campus Marketing Plan
Funding this marketing plan provides necessary capital to completely overhaul the marketing process and campaign for the newly expanding Sacramento Graduate Campus.
• Sacramento MBA Program
These funds allow for up to three years of funding to operate the Master of Business Administration degree program on the Sacramento Graduate Campus. As with all new programs supported by SIF, this program must be at least revenue neutral after three years in order to continue.
• Three-City Comprehensive Graduate Marketing Plan
While Pacific has historically extended resources towards marketing and recruiting undergraduate and professional students, until now there was no centralized or strategic mechanism to market and recruit graduate students to Pacific. With the growth of graduate programs on all three campuses, it is imperative that we support the admission of quality students in those programs as well. This proposal funds the creation of a centralized, systematic marketing and recruiting office for graduate programs on all Pacific campuses. Enrollment Management has therefore been able to hire four experienced and capable recruitment professionals with years of experience in graduate student recruitment. They are completing their first set of meetings with different graduate programs this week and are already formulating plans for Fall '15 and beyond.
