Update on Faculty Lines from the Faculty Retirement Incentive

In Spring 2014, 20 faculty members retired from the University after taking advantage of a University sponsored early retirement plan,.
Of those 20 faculty lines, the Deans contributed 5 lines as unit contributions to the Strategic Investment Fund as part of Focusing On Our Future (FOOF). Of the 15 remaining lines, 11 have been or are currently approved for search, and the 4 remaining lines are awaiting reallocation by the Academic Division. In addition, 2.4 faculty lines from sources other than the retirement incentive were contributed to FOOF by the Deans, resulting in a total of 7.4 faculty lines permanently reallocated to FOOF. Faculty lines that were contributed as part of the FOOF process are no longer available for redistribution/reallocation.
