Pacific Now Eligible for Title III / Title V Funding

Back to Issue 18 Table of Contents

Pacific was recently deemed an eligible institution to apply for US Department of Education Title III and Title V funding due to our relatively high number of students dependent on federal financial aid and our relatively low amount of spending per student. This means that Pacific can apply for the following programs.

·        The AANAPISI program provides grants and related assistance to Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-serving institutions to enable such institutions to improve and expand their capacity to serve Asian Americans and Native American Pacific Islanders and low-income individuals.  (Deadline: May 19, 2015.)

·        The Strengthening Institutions Program helps eligible IHEs to become self-sufficient and expand their capacity to serve low-income students by providing funds to improve and strengthen the academic quality, institutional management, and fiscal stability of eligible institutions. (The call for 2015 has not yet appeared.)

·        The Undergraduate International Studies and Foreign Language (USIFL) Program provides funds to plan, develop, and carry out programs to strengthen and improve undergraduate instruction in international studies and foreign languages.  (Current call has not yet gone out.)

These programs have extremely short turnaround times (1-2 months).  If you have a program idea, it would be wise to develop it before the next call for proposals appears. Please contact Chris Goff for more information.
