Services, Office Hours & Location
The Ombuds invites visitors to bring issues and concerns to the office. Alternate meeting places can also be arranged. The ombuds will listen to your concerns and work with you to find solutions and resources to solve work-related issues. Walk-ins are welcome; however, for confidentiality reasons, it is best to call and make an appointment.
The Ombuds service is completely voluntary and does not replace or circumvent any other services provided to faculty and staff.
Services:
- Listen to your concerns
- Recommend available resources
- Direct you to appropriate department, depending on type of issue
- Provide feedback regarding interpersonal difficulties
- Act as a neutral third party in discussions with others
- Look into a situation for you
- Provide conflict competence professional development, usually in conjunction with other internal resources
Office Hours:
- 7:30-4:30: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday
- 8:00-5:00: Wednesdays
- Alternate times available upon request
Locations:
- Stockton- The Ombuds office is located at 106 Bannister Hall between Owen Hall and Baun Fitness Center.
- Pacific McGeorge School of Law - A location for the Ombuds will be secured soon. In the interim, please call for an appointment.
- Dugoni School of Dentistry-A location for the Ombuds will be secured soon. In the interim, please call for an appointment.
A Few Key Things to Remember
The Ombuds:
- is not an office of record nor can the ombuds receive official notice for the University.
- cannot circumvent University policy or procedure.
- does not provide legal or psychological counsel.
