Dear Members of the Academic Division, 

Commencement 2014 marked the end of another academic year at Pacific. I would like to thank everyone again for the contributions that have made this past year successful. We have accomplished much, including the completion of the Academic Planning and Alignment process and the Academic Administrative reviews. Based on the thoughtful work of the faculty, we now have direction to move forward to provide the high quality education for which Pacific is known.  2013-14 Faculty AwardsPlease join me in celebrating the achievements of our faculty.

As you may know the following faculty have been recognized by their peers for the 2013-14 academic year: 

  • University Distinguished Faculty Award is given for outstanding accomplishment by a tenured faculty member in any or all of the following areas: teaching, research, creative endeavors and service to the University. The 2014 recipient is Gary Litton, Professor of Civil Engineering, School of Engineering and Computer Science. 
  • Eberhardt Teacher-Scholar Award recognizes both exemplary teaching and scholarship. The 2014 recipient is Bill Herrin, Professor of Economics and Director, School of International Studies. 
  • University Scholar/Teacher of the Year Award- General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of The United Methodist Church is given to faculty who demonstrate exceptional teaching, concern for students and colleagues and sensitivity to the mission of the church-related university, a record of significant contributions to the scholarly life of the university, and a commitment to high standards of professional and personal life. The 2014 recipient is Todd Davenport, Associate Professor of Physical Therapy, Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
