Flexible Spending Benefits (Group # 475)
A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is an effective way to save when paying for certain health care, dependent day care and transportation expenses. You decide how much you want to set aside to pay for eligible expenses incurred during the plan year and make a separate election for each account. The plan year runs from January 1st through December 31st.
Effective January 1, 2020 the vendor will change from Delta Health Systems to Trustmark (CoreSource) for Medical Flexible Spending Accounts, Dependent Care Accounts, Offsite Parking and Transit. New contributions for 2020 will be available through CoreSource. Rollover/Runout contributions from 2019 will be available through Delta Health Systems through March 31, 2020 then transferred to CoreSource by the end of April. Please read article for more information.
The amount you choose is deducted on a pre-tax basis from your paycheck in equal amounts throughout the plan year. Your contributions are not taxed before they go into your account or when you are reimbursed for eligible expenses. This means less of your earnings are subject to tax.
Flexible Spending Coverage | 2020 Flexible Spending Maximums |
Health Care Flexible Spending Account | $2,750 annual max |
Dependent Care Spending Account | $2,500 single or $5,000 married |
Transit/Vanpooling | $270 monthly max |
Parking Spending Account | $270 monthly max |
Plan wisely and well- When planning for your contribution, review your prior year expenses and any anticipated expenses for the upcoming plan year. You can "roll-over" unused amounts up to $500 from a Healthcare Flexible Spending Account for use the next year. Any amounts not used in the plan year over $500 will be lost. Keep in mind to plan ahead as rollovers into the next year can only be used for prior year claims at the beginning of the year. For example, the rollover into 2020 can only be used for prior year (2019) claims until March 31, 2020. After, all remaining rollover funds can be used for current year (2020) claims.
Delta Health Systems- only 2019 claims for Medical Flexible Spending Accounts and Depdendent Care Accounts go through Delta health Systems until March 31, 2020. Please see Online Access Guide to access your online account. Claims for 2019 Transit and Parking flexible spending accounts need to go throurgh Trustmark (Coresource).
When you incur an eligible expense, you can pay for the service using your WEX Health Card or another form of payment then request reimbursement through WEX Health. Claims can be submitted online at My.WexHealthCard.com or by completing a paper claim and faxing or mailing to WEX Health.
