    Study Abroad

We encourage our students to pursue study abroad as a complement to their studies at Pacific. Students can spend a semester or a year abroad, or they can choose one of the University's summer immersion programs in China, Guatemala, or Italy. Take a look at some recent student experiences.

    Emily Olson in Italy

"The summer I spent in Italy was the first time I had ever gone abroad, but I can promise you that it won't be the last. I came back with a new sense of confidence, cultural awareness, and determination - studying in another country has inspired me to expand my perspectives. I know believe my education would have been less meaningful if I didn't have a small understanding of its place in a global setting.

Traveling as an undergraduate can be a decisive experience...it makes you realize that there's a whole world out there and that you have the remainder of a life time to see it. The impact changes you - the memories of your experiences begin to show in your current perspectives, discussions, decisions... And it leaves you craving more."

Sasha Kasoff in Ireland"I had always wanted to go to Ireland and I had thought about becoming an international student right out of high school. My grandfather was 100% Irish and after he died it rekindled my desire to travel there. My boyfriend, Richard Moore, and I met in junior college and then transferred to University of the Pacific. I convinced him to come to Ireland with me, and it was a wonderful experience I would highly recommend to everyone. I took thousands of photos and published a poetry and photography book over the summer when we returned. Since any student at Pacific can travel abroad for the same tuition, I honestly don't know why every single student doesn't take advantage of this amazing opportunity."
