Oct 14, 2014

University of the Pacific Vice President for Business and Finance Ken Mullen today announced the appointment of Randall Schwantes as the new director of Internal Audit & Compliance following a successful national search. He has served as the interim director since February 2014, following the retirement of the previous director, Winnie Rivinius. Schwantes assumes the new role immediately.

"Randy has demonstrated that he has the experience and strategic planning skills that will serve Pacific well into the future," said Mullen. "We are delighted that someone from within our organization is able to bring national-level capabilities to this important position."

Prior to working at Pacific, Schwantes served 12 years in the United States Army and was an Audit and Assurance Supervisor at a Modesto auditing firm. Schwantes is a certified public accountant, a certified internal auditor, and a certified fraud examiner. He received his bachelor's degree from California State University, Stanislaus.

The Director of Internal Audit & Compliance provides independent and objective assurance and consulting services to the University and the Board of Regents. Internal Audit & Compliance works with units to manage risks, improve processes and evaluate compliance to help them achieve their objectives.
