Approved Minutes of special meeting held August 6, 2014

Call to Order: 2:02 pm

Introductions: Dr. Farley Staniec, Chair, welcomed members and guests.
Background: President Eibeck provided an overview of the goals of the committee. The committee is charged with charting a new course for the University by recommending guidelines that align with the Strategic Plan, Pacific 2020. Applications may be submitted for reoccurring base funding or one-time funding. It is imperative to prioritize how resources are reallocated while focusing on enrollment growth, building capacity and attracting investment funds through seed grants.
Summary of status on Strategic Investment Fund: Ken Mullen presented a Strategic Investment Fund worksheet charting base funds available and a One-Time Allocation worksheet. The President presented a single worksheet charting both base and one-time funds available and asked for additional collaboration to develop a single concise worksheet. Dr. Staniec, Chair, asked for clarification of the role of the committee. President Eibeck confirmed the IPC's role is to review proposals and either recommend for further discovery or approve proposals for recommendation to the Board.
Capacity proposal for Marketing Campaign for McGeorge School of Law: Rich Rojo and Charlene Mattison proposed a request for a one-time allocation of funding for marketing to build the reputational base and bring up enrollment. Bernie Atterbury moved "the marketing proposal for the McGeorge School of Law Reputation Campaign be approved." The motion was adopted after debate.
Capacity proposal for Pacific Technology Foundational Roadmap: John Jones proposed a request for a combination of one-time and base funding for Phase One to begin improvement of Pacific's technology services. After debate, this motion was tabled pending presentation of further details and will become an agenda item for the September 9, 2014, meeting.
