Meet the Team


Leslie Bayers - Associate Director

Dr. Bayers has a Ph.D. in Spanish and a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education. She has taught at the college level for over twenty years and won teaching awards at each stage of her career. She was Associate Professor of Spanish and Latin American Studies at St. Mary's College of Maryland before joining the Pacific CTL team. She has authored various journal articles on Peruvian poetry and is an active literary translator.   Follow her on Twitter at @LeslieBayers.


Rosalinda Boyette - Instructional Media Specialist

Rosalinda has a Bachelor's degree in Art, focusing on graphics related courses. With a passion and appreciation for art, she has worked with professors and visiting artists to complete large-scale installations and exhibitions. Serving as an intern, she assisted in the activities and events of the Building Imagination Center of CSU Stanislaus, including attending gallery receptions and creating promotional cross-posts to social media sites.

Heather Chappell has 12 years of experience with Lodi Unified School. She graduated from Lodi High School in 1999. Heather grew up in Lodi and continued to raise her family here in Stockton.

Lott Hill has 20 years of experience teaching undergraduate and graduate students and leading faculty development, collaborative research, and design of inclusive, engaged, learner-centered pedagogical and instructional practices. Lott has created and taught classes in creative writing, cultural studies and journalism, as well as service-learning, first-year, and capstone courses. Lott brings a collaborative approach to leadership and the design of instructional and professional development services for faculty, deploying high-impact practices that support faculty as they reimagine pedagogy and technology in their face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses. Lott's comprehensive understanding of the scholarship of teaching and learning and best practices for instruction, restorative justice, equity in education, classroom management, and assessment informs CTL efforts to empower faculty as they engage in a scholarly learner-centered approach to teaching across the University.

David Yu - Instructional Designer

Dr. Yu is an instructional designer in the Center for Teaching and Learning. He received his Ph.D. in Education (with a focus on educational technology) and a masters degree in Library and Information Science (with a focus on library/learning media design). He has a substantial background in instructional technology and human-centered design. He provides consultations and partners with faculty in designing and developing engaging student-centered learning experiences across all modalities.
