Automated doors, loudspeakers on campus tested Aug. 13

Aug 11, 2014

Pacific's Public Safety and PacificCard will perform a test of the automated door locks on campus at approximately 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13.

An on-campus loudspeaker system also will be tested at about the same time. It is only a test.

Dispatchers will remotely lock the doors that are accessible by card readers for no more than two minutes as part of an annual test of the system to lock the doors in the event of a crisis. Public Safety officers will be stationed at several locations on campus to make sure that the locks have engaged.

Dispatchers will then return the locks to their regular mode for normal business operations.

The loudspeakers are another component of the emergency notification system.

We apologize for any inconvenience this test may cause.
