New employees and notable changes - August 11, 2014

Welcome to Pacific   

Nahila B. Ahsan and Jesse B. Neumann are economic research analysts in the Eberhardt School of Business.

Harrison Aquino is the marketing and events manager in the Center for Professional and Continuing Education.

Joey Centanni '09 is a new assistant coach for men's baseball in Pacific Athletics. Centanni played four years for Pacific from 2006-09 and graduated with a degree in communications. He earned two All-Big West selections throughout his career including second team honors as a utility player in 2009. Upon his graduation, Centanni earned a free-agent contract with the Baltimore Orioles organization for which he played four seasons. Most recently, he was the head varsity baseball coach at The Bishop's School in his hometown of San Diego where he brought a previously winless team to the playoffs in one season. Centanni also worked as an associate scout for the Orioles in the San Diego area.  

Troy Daniel, Mary X. Lor, Felipe D. Santoyo and Hu S. Vang are new custodians in Support Services.

Kostantinos J. Efstathiou is the new assistant director of member services and marketing for Pacific Recreation in Student Life.

Little Kem and Steve Martinez are new mail clerks in Pacific Mail Services.  

Daniel Llarenas is a new assistant coach for men's tennis in Athletics. Llarenas comes to Pacific from Guam where he led John F. Kennedy High School to the boys 2013 High School Championship. He played three years at the University of Hawaii where he was part of two teams that won the Western Athletic Conference championship in 2009 and 2010. He has played 13 times in the Davis Cup, the World Cup of Tennis, and has a 13-3 record.  

Heather Mariani was promoted to internal auditor in the Office of Internal Audit.

Anthony C. Oliver is the Vocational Services Program director in the Community Reentry Program in the College of the Pacific Department of Psychology.

Heather S. Pearson is an area coordinator in Student Life.

Larrisa M. Poree is the schedule of classes coordinator in the Office of the Registrar.

Clara Valencia is the new record coordinator in Research and Graduate Studies.

Tyrone E. Wise is an evaluator in the Office of the Registrar.

Notable Changes

Raquel Aldana has been appointed associate dean for faculty scholarship at Pacific McGeorge School of Law.

Patricia Isbill has transferred to the Registrar's office as an evaluator.

Vipheavy Keo has been promoted to craftsperson II in Physical Plant.

Ester Rafanan has transferred to the position of administrative assistant II within the School of Engineering and Computer Science.

E. Ann Sica has transferred to Annual Giving in University Development as an administrative assistant II.

Jessica Smith has been promoted to forensic services coordinator in the Department of Psychology in College of the Pacific.

James Wirrell has been promoted to assistant dean for library services at Pacific McGeorge School of Law.

Joe Wortmann '98 has joined the coaching staff of women's volleyball in Pacific Athletics as assistant coach for the upcoming 2014 season after 22 years as the head coach of men's volleyball. Wortmann came to Pacific in 1989 as an assistant coach for women's volleyball and served three years under head coach John Dunning before starting the men's volleyball team. Wortmann was a two-time Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Coach of the Year (1996 and 2003). He upgraded the Pacific men's volleyball program from club status to NCAA Division I status in 1992 and brought the team to its first playoff appearance in only its fourth year as a Division I program.
