Senior Project Day
All seniors in the School of Engineering and Computer Science are required to complete a design project as part of their degree requirements. The projects allow the students to practice what they have been learning in the classroom and implement the design process. The projects are presented and demonstrated on Senior Project Day each year before Commencement and judged by a panel made up of alumni and industry experts.
"Senior projects are a great compliment to an engineering and science education. By incorporating a hands-on and practical element to their studies, students learn how to translate academics into real life, how to solve problems and it allows them to participate in work that is relevant and reflects their interests. It is an excellent opportunity for students to work with their peers and differentiate themselves with prospective employers by showcasing creativity, independent work and providing insight into their capabilities, problem solving skills and interests." - Alicia Stamps '01

Senior Project Day is on Saturday, May 2, 2019 and is open to the public. We especially invite all new incoming and prospective students to come and meet our faculty and seniors and learn more about our school. Open house demonstrations and judging are from 2:30-4:00 pm. Winners will be announced after by the Anderson Lawn at 4:00 pm.
The Value of the Senior Project
"The senior project is the beginning of "welcome to the world" where no one tells you what to do, when to do it and how to do it.
