The goal of the Environmental Studies major is to help students understand the complex nature of environmental issues and how humans can address them using an interdisciplinary approach.

Environmental Studies allows students to craft their own concentration within a broad degree program. Our curriculum offers a flexible, comprehensive major in Environmental Studies. The major's broad requirements, all of which meet General Education requirements,  make it an ideal second major for students with an environmental interest who still want to graduate in four years.

The program also offers a focused, five-course minor that can be completed in conjunction with many other degree programs. In particular, Biology, Political Science, Economics, History, and Geological and Environmental Science students may be well on their way to getting a minor in Environmental Studies with only a few additional classes.
