WOW "Hip Hop You Don't Stop" Reading Book Drive
In an effort to promote literacy for the next generation, With Our Words, Inc. (WOW) is hosting a book drive during University of the Pacific's Black History Month Celebration.
Through its award winning "Hip Hop, You Don't Stop Reading Program," WOW will be collecting new and gently used children's books at various locations throughout San Joaquin County. Books can also be dropped off at the two main Black History Month events, a lecture and performance by Common, hip-hop artist, author and actor, on Feb. 8 at the Bob Hope Theatre and at Gospelfest 2014 featuring the gospel artist Tye Tribbett on Feb. 28 at Atherton Auditorium at San Joaquin Delta College.
WOW hopes to collect and distribute 10,000 books for children in the community.
