Borrow, Renew, Request
All Pacific faculty (including emeriti), students and staff are eligible to borrow library materials.
- Borrowing Policies
All Pacific faculty (including emeriti), students and staff are eligible to borrow library materials. A current valid Pacific ID is needed for check out.
Loan Periods
*Adjunct faculty are eligible to borrow library materials for the duration of their appointment. Emeriti faculty are eligible to borrow library materials for their lifetime.
**Special borrowers must first obtain a library card.Library materials are due at the time and date stated when borrowed, renewed, or recalled.
- Renew
You may renew items yourself by logging in to Your Library Account. Follow the instructions to view your library record and renew materials. Interlibrary loan items must be renewed through Illiad.
- Request
Current students, staff, and faculty of the University of the Pacific are eligible to request library-owned items by using the "Request It!" feature in our online catalog, or PacificSearch. Requested books will be retrieved from the shelves within 24 hours and placed on hold at the Pacific Library Ask Us Desk. After placing the request, an email notification will be sent to the requestor, alerting them that the material is available for pick-up. The material will be available at the Library Ask Us desk for 10 days after notification is sent.
- Fines
Materials are subject to replacement fees based on the cost of individual items lost. Interlibrary loans are also subject to replacement fees in the amount charged to Pacific from the lending library. Accounts with overdue items will be blocked, which will affect access to library databases.
- Recalls
- All circulating materials are subject to recall after 2 weeks, meaning that another borrower can request the item and a new due date will be issued to the original borrower.
- Failure to return a recalled item within 7 days will result in a loss of further borrowing privileges until the item is returned.
