Minutes: Minutes for the January 10, 2012 meeting were approved.

Dental Budget Presentation (20 min): Bergstrom presented the proposed FY13 budget for the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. Presentation included information on revenue and expenditure assumptions including enrollment, tuition and fee adjustments, faculty and staff compensation adjustments, and key performance indicators.  

Impact of Cal Grant Reduction at Pacific: Perrot reviewed the Governor's proposed reduction in Cal Grants for students attending non-profit, private Universities in California. He reviewed various scenarios which illustrated the potential impact on Pacific if the Governor's propose budget cuts are enacted by the legislature.  

Meyer asked if the University would consider making loan money available to students to cover the Cal Grant shortfall (either the University providing loans or other sources of loans being made available to students). 

Finalize Stockton Campus Budget Recommendation:Pearson presented the results from the second IPC ballet. He suggested that the two items that received eleven votes (half-time Veterans Enrollment Counselor and Web Search Appliance upgrade be added to the top tier recommendations from the December meeting (Accounting and Physical Therapy faculty position, Pharmacy rotation support and additional funding for Psychiatry hours).  IPC voted to approve this suggestion.   IPC voted to include the following funding requests as a second tier of recommendations: faculty positions in engineering and chemistry, full time dietician/eating disorders counselor, and additional funding for Stockton campus events, Latino Outreach Programs, academic software maintenance.

Prepare for Campus Forums: Pearson shared a draft of the February 1 open campus forum presentation with IPC. In past years, the audience for these forums were mostly made up of faculty and staff, however, this year, more students are expected to attend. 
President Eibeck asked that it be clear that she is not a voting member of IPC and attends meetings only to observe the decision-making processes of IPC.

Pearson thanked IPC members for the feedback. He will circulate a revised presentation by email. Pearson asked IPC members to review the drafts and continue to offer suggestions. 

Pearson reminded IPC of the two community forum dates-the first is scheduled to occur on Wednesday, February 1 in the DUC Ballroom B at 4pm; the second forum will occur Tuesday, February 7 at 12pm in Grace Covell.

Note: A special meeting of IPC will take place on February 14, 2012 at 3:30pm-5:00pm to discuss issues relating to the Governor's proposed changes in the Cal Grant Program.
