What are the requirements to join the program?
You must either be First-Generation (neither parent has obtained a Bachelor's Degree), Low-Income (according to federal guidelines) and/or have a documented disability. In addition, a student must meet all of the following criteria: be a U.S. citizen or Legal Resident (must qualify for federal aid), have a FAFSA on file, have academic need and is a full-time undergraduate student at Pacific. We are funded to work with approximately 200 students each year so there is an application process to screen for qualified participants.  (return to top)

How do I apply?
Students can pick up an application at the SUCCESS TRiO Office, located on the 1st floor of the McCaffrey Center or it can be downloaded from the website here. (return to top)

What does the application process include?
After completing the TRiO application, the office will verify information and request a review of financial status from the Office of Financial Aid.(return to top)

How will I know if I am accepted into TRiO?
After the intake interview, pending verification of eligibility requirements and vacancies within the eligibility categories, students are informed of their status by email or mail. The student then signs up for a TRiO orientation meeting.  After the student attends the orientation and signs the appropriate forms, the student can then be admitted into the program.  (return to top)

What if I am not accepted into the program?
If you are notified that you have not been accepted, the best thing to do is to either call or come by the office.  It may be that our 200 student limit has been reached and you will be placed on a waiting list. If you do not meet the eligibility criteria for our program, we can refer you to other resources on campus for academic assistance.  (return to top)
