Application and Selection Process
The Legal Scholars Program is a highly selective program that is interested in selecting 12-15 students per year. Please review the application criteria below to determine if you are eligible to apply. Students who are eligible and wish to apply should indicate Pacific Legal Scholars as a "pre-professional program" on their application to the University or contact the Outreach Coordinator for the next steps in the application process.
Program Criteria for Freshmen
- 3+3 track: 3.5 GPA and 1320 SAT (30 ACT)
- 4+3 track: 3.5 GPA and 1250 SAT (28 ACT)
- SAT based on Math + Critical Reading only
- GPA is cumulative and unweighted
Program Criteria for Transfers
- Freshmen and sophomores only (fewer than 60 transferrable units)
- 3.5 cumulative college GPA and 1250 SAT (28 ACT)
- High school transcripts are considered for those with fewer than 30 units
- Consideration for the 3+3 track is on a case-by-case basis
Application Process
- Indicate Pacific Legal Scholars as a "pre-professional program" on your application to the University or contact the Outreach Coordinator
- Respond to an email or mailing from the program
Selection
- Qualified students who have already been admitted to the University will be invited to interview
- Legal Scholars interviews have no impact on your admission to University of the Pacific
- You will receive a decision notification in March or April (depending on interview date)
- The program can only accommodate 12-15 students per freshman class
- If accepted to Legal Scholars, you must confirm your enrollment to the University and Legal Scholars by May 1
Scholarship
- Outstanding candidates may receive a $3,000 renewable scholarship
- Scholarships are awarded based on merit and the interview
- Recipients will be notified in their acceptance letter in March or April (depending on interview date)
