Industry Partners

Industry Partners are not only valuable but necessary to our School.  They provide mentorship and internship opportunities for our students.  There are a number of ways Industry Partners can invest in the future generation of engineers and computer scientists.

Cooperative Education

Engineering students at Pacific are required to complete 7.5 months of paid practical experience (co-op) prior to graduating.  Co-op benefits the hiring industry partners in the following ways:

  • Long-term recruitment vehicle
  • Short-term source of valuable talent
  • Connectedness with the University
  • Constant infusion of the latest technology into their companies

For more information about Pacific's Co-op Program please contact, Steve Harvath, Director of Cooperative Education, at 209-946-3062 or by email at  You can also visit the Cooperative Education website for more detailed information about our Co-op Program.

Project Mentorship

The capstone senior design course and  project is required for all graduating SOECS students.  The project brings together multiple aspects of the curriculum, and also multiple aspects of a real-world working environment, such as teamwork, a budget, time constraints and pressure.  Students work with their faculty advisors in identifying and choosing appropriate projects.  Many of these projects require an industry mentor to provide mentorship, guidance and often times financial support for material costs for the project.

Employment Opportunities

Considering an entry level hire?  Would you like a graduate with experience?  Pacific's Engineers & Computer Scientists graduate with a minimum of 7.5 months of technical experience and many have top leadership experience as well.  To partner with us to employ tomorrow's engineers, contact Steve Harvath, Director of Cooperative Education, at 209-946-3062 or by email at   We are happy to facilitate interviews through our Career Resource Center.
