Academics

The degree programs in Physics prepare students to think deeply through questions, to find and connect abstract relationships to new situations, and to be academically confident and broadly knowledgeable scientists and teachers.

  • Bachelor of Science degrees are offered in Physics and Engineering.
  • A Bachelor of Arts degree is offered in Physics, which is combined with the credential program for secondary school teaching.
  • The department also offers a Physics Minor, intended for students majoring in other disciplines who have a strong interest in Physics and the underlying principles of science.

Degrees Offered

Physics majors can choose from three degrees offered; a BS in physics, a BS in Engineering-Physics, or a BA in physics. For students interested in the BS degree, there are three concentrations available: computational physics, astrophysics, and mathematical physics.

The department also offers a minor in physics for students committed to a different academic major.
